Discover the 50th anniversary agenda

On 24th May 1968 a group of friends founded the Club Nàutic L'Escala. They all shared a passion for the sea and this passion still exists at the heart of the Club today. A lot of things have changed around the Club in the 50 years since it was founded.

The Costa Brava sports club would like to invite you to celebrate its 50th anniversary with many exciting activities.

Social life

The 9th June will be one of our most important days. It is Marina Day and we will open the doors of the Club for the whole day for anyone who would like to join us and enjoy any of our nautical activities. We will also try to gather the sailing enthusiasts with a new edition of the Ruta de l’Anxova and will end in the evening with the presentation of a new book that the Club has published to commemorate its 50th  anniversary.

In addition, on 4th August we will again hold the Members Day (Diada del Soci); one of its most memorable editions including its traditional celebration dinner and a whole day of nautical activities at the Sailing School.

But that’s not all! Here are some other unmissable activities:

  • Presentation: How to prepare for a voyage, 21st  April
  • New Boats Fair, 28th  April to 6th  May.
  • Tourist Voyage, 5th and 6th May – 2nd and 3rd June.

  • Barbecue, 14th  July
  • Presentation: Recommendations on how to sail the Natural Park, 14th  July
  • Live Music, 25th  August

Sports Life

The 50th anniversary of Club Nàutic L'Escala will also be a focus in all the Club events in 2018. This will apply to the open dinghy sailing regattas, to the Ruta de l’Anxova and to the Nautivela Fishing League. The anniversary will also be celebrated during the Optimist Championship of Catalonia which the Club will host on the weekends of 14th/15th April and 21st/22nd April. This will be called the 50th Anniversary Regatta and also known as Mar d’Empúries Trophy and will gather the best young sailors from all over Catalonia.

In the fishing section, you have a fantastic opportunity to gain qualification for the Barracuda Tour from Bénéteau. Two competitions of pagellus fishing will take place on 3rd March and 28th and 29th April, with scores combined from both events to earn a place in the international fishing competition.
