The Sepia Project 2016

The Sepia Project is an action plan in which the club participates and whose main objective is to facilitate the reproduction of cephalopods such as squid, cuttlefish at the coast near L’Escala.

L’Escala and L’Estartit fishermen participate in the Sepia Project - an initiative that began in the Natural Park of Montgrí, the Illes Medes and Baix Ter (Girona) - which seeks to recover populations of cuttlefish and squid.
Long ago, these animals were very abundant in the bay of Pals and Roses, but in recent years there has been a significant decrease in the number of fish caught.

This project 2016 is finishing, there are few eggs; some squid that are still laying some sepia lays eggs in a hurry. The project has been a success and has helped recover marine life.
