The event took place last Saturday 24th April as part of the first online talk of the Underwater Activities Section of the Club N\u00e0utic l\u2019Escala. MedFoto was born from the agreement signed by the Club N\u00e0utic l\u2019Escala and the Fundaci\u00f3 Alive, on 5th February, according to which they agreed to work together to create a photographic competition with the aim of promoting environmental and human values of the Mediterranean Sea.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>The sea and the Mediterranean Sea have been closely linked to the fishing village of l\u2019Escala since the beginning. In fact, the Greeks landed on the Iberian Peninsula at Emp\u00faries, where their remains remind us every day of the importance of preserving their historical and cultural legacy of which the sea is one of its main backbones.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>The sea that bathes our coasts is therefore very valuable. It is culture and history; a means of work and recreation for man and the habitat of thousands of species of animals and plants that make up its very special seascape. Values which have to coexist for the present and for future generations and which we can only preserve by enjoying and working at sea in a sustainable way.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>    <figure class=\"image-banner\">\t\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nauticescala.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/loligo-vulgaris-c-bernat-garrigos.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t<\/figure><!-- end image-banner -->\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An open competition<\/h3>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>The Club N\u00e0utic l\u2019Escala and the Fundaci\u00f3 Alive are presenting the result of months of work, a <strong>photography competition dedicated to all aspects of the Mediterranean Sea <\/strong>with the theme of The Sea and People. From the landscape to the marine life; from what is happening on the surface to what is going on under water; from professional nautical activities to sports ones. That is why there are seven categories in the competition, including one exclusively for images taken by mobile devices.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>MedFoto is in addition a competition open to anyone who wants to take part: photography amateurs and professionals. All of them will be able to present up to 15 photographs in any of the categories of the competition. <strong>The registration and timeframe for submitting images will start next Saturday 1st May and will finish on 31st of the same month.<\/strong><\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>    <figure class=\"image-banner\">\t\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nauticescala.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/2015-cn-lescala-costa-brava-regates.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t<\/figure><!-- end image-banner -->\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A collaborative project<\/h3>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>The MedFoto competition is a joint initiative of the Club N\u00e0utic l\u2019Escala and the Fundaci\u00f3 Alive. The Club N\u00e0utic l\u2019Escala is a non-profit sports association that aims to promote sports and recreational sailing by giving everyone access to the sea. The Fundaci\u00f3 Alive is a private foundation that works to improve knowledge of biodiversity through the collection, cataloguing and dissemination of biological information.<br>The Town Hall of l\u2019Escala supports the project as part of its constant efforts to promote local values and environments, as a tool to improve the quality of life of its citizens.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nauticescala.com\/medfoto\/?lang=es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Check the rules of the competition and take part!<\/a><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you love the sea?
