 {"id":29441,"date":"2026-06-01T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nauticescala.com\/?post_type=news&#038;p=29441"},"modified":"2026-06-04T18:58:19","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T16:58:19","slug":"buoys-for-anchoring","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/nauticescala.com\/en\/news\/buoys-for-anchoring\/","title":{"rendered":"Anchoring in the Cap de Creus, Montgr\u00ed, the Medes Islands and the Cargol of l\u2019Escala"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>During the busiest months for boating, mooring buoys will be available so you can enjoy the sea while respecting the environment.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>As usual, <strong>anchoring is regulated in certain areas<\/strong> of the Montgr\u00ed, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park, as well as in some parts of l\u2019Escala, with the aim of protecting the seagrass (Posidonia) meadows along the Costa Brava.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p><strong>In areas of free anchoring<\/strong>, please note that <strong>anchoring on seagrass meadows<\/strong> (such as <em>Posidonia oceanica<\/em> and <em>Cymodocea nodosa<\/em>) is strictly prohibited. Please<a href=\"https:\/\/sig.gencat.cat\/visors\/habitats_marins.html\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/sig.gencat.cat\/visors\/habitats_marins.html\"> <strong>consult the map where these meadows are identified<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Check the buoys available for anchoring in each                                \n                                                \n                                                    <p>From August 14th, 2025, with the entry into force of the<strong> Management and Use Plan for the Cap de Creus Natural Park<\/strong>, important changes will be introduced affecting navigation, anchoring, and marine activities in the area.<\/p>\n<p>We highlight those related to speed and anchoring:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Free anchoring is allowed, except:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Inside the buoy fields located in Montjoi, La Pelosa, J\u00f3ncols, Taballera and Rostella.<\/li>\n<li>In the no-anchoring zones of Cala Murtra, Cala Jugadora and Cala Galladera, once the delimiting buoys are installed.<\/li>\n<li>In all cases, damage to Posidonia meadows must be avoided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maximum navigation speeds in the Park are:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>General maximum speed: 12 knots<\/li>\n<li>Maximum speed within 300 m of the coast: 5 knots<\/li>\n<li>Additionally, according to coastal law, within 50 meters of the coast: maximum 3 knots<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Check all the <a        \n                                                    <p>Between the months of July and September, anchoring is not allowed in the area of El Cargol de l&#8217;Escala and it is necessary to do so using only the<strong> field of day-use buoys<\/strong> enabled with capacity for boats of up to 12 meters. <strong>These buoys are free to use.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The buoy field offers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Blue buoys for boats under 8 m length.<\/li>\n<li>White buoys for boats under 12 m length.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once the buoys are removed, anchoring will be allowed as long as the posidonia is not affected.<\/p>\n\n                                                \n                                            \n                       \n                                                \n                                                    <p><strong>From the 1st of June to the 30th of September, Cala Montg\u00f3 has a field of buoys distributed as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Posidonia signaling buoys that delimit the area where anchoring is prohibited. These are yellow, large, and have a cross. Outside the delimited area, anchoring is allowed.<\/li>\n<li>Blue buoys for recreational boats located in the posidonia area.<\/li>\n<li>Yellow buoys for dive center boats that can be used if no center is moored. For shared use whenever space allows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The mooring buoys are managed by the Cala Montg\u00f3 operator. Direct payment at the buoy only with a credit card.<\/li>\n<li>\u20ac 106,15 per year. <a href=\"https:\/\/nauticescala.com\/en\/contact\/\">Ask for information on how to apply for your annual season ticket at the Club&#8217;s Main Office!<\/a> You will be assigned a subscription card and a sticker with the license plate to facilitate the identification of your boat.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>White buoy &#8211; boats between 9 and 15 m in length:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>\u20ac 12,55 for half a day (from sunrise to 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to sunset). The anchoring will be conditioned to the availability of buoys at the time.<\/li>\n<li>You can only moor one boat per buoy, except for the months of July and August, during which a maximum of two
