{"id":46455,"date":"2022-10-12T19:48:10","date_gmt":"2022-10-12T17:48:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nauticescala.com\/?post_type=news&#038;p=46455"},"modified":"2022-10-12T19:48:11","modified_gmt":"2022-10-12T17:48:11","slug":"2022-eurilca-master-european-championships-day-4","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/nauticescala.com\/en\/news\/2022-eurilca-master-european-championships-day-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Penultimate day of the 2022 EurILCA Master European Championships in l&#8217;Escala"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Photos: Thom Touw<\/em><\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>Today, Wednesday, October 12, the <a href=\"https:\/\/2022-master.eurilca-europeans.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2022 EurILCA Master European Championships<\/a> got to its penultimate day, which began with a cleaning of the coast near the Club N\u00e0utic L&#8217;Escala by some of the participating sailors.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>To do so, the volunteers met at the regatta Village at 9:30 in the morning and collected waste in the Planasses area, located in the Montgr\u00ed Natural Park.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\t<div class=\"offset-section\">\n\t    <div class=\"video-player\">\n\t        <div class=\"video-holder\">\n\t            <div class=\"video-element\" data-id=\"HYeRl6pII8g\" id=\"video-01\"><\/div>\n\t        <\/div><!-- end video-holder -->\n\t    <\/div><!-- end video-player -->\n\t<\/div><!-- end offset-section -->\t\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>This cleanup is included in the action plan to make this event as sustainable as possible. Thanks to contributions like todays, the 2022 the EurILCA Master Europeans Championships is eligible for platinum certification from the Sailors for the Sea Clean Regattas program.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>Today the fleet has gone out to the water around 12 o&#8217;clock. The wind, today, was more intense which allowed to sail two new races. Again, a plate of pasta was waiting for them to recover energy.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>    <figure class=\"image-banner\">\t\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nauticescala.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/2022-nauticescala-2022-eurilca-master-europeans-championships-c-thom-touw-661.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t<\/figure><!-- end image-banner -->\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>The first race has been sailed with 10 &#8211; 12 knots of direction 25, while in the second; the wind has shifted to 50 increasing intensity to 15 knots. With four days of regatta and eight races completed, the rankings take shape.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>The Spanish Xavi Tous and Alfredo Berm\u00fadez continue as leaders ILCA 6 Apprentice Master fleet (30 \u2013 44 years old) followed, now, by the Greek Antonios Kondis. The provisional podium remains intact among the females, occupied by the Spanish M\u00edriam Carles-Tolra, the Italian Elisa Boschin and the Greek Georgia Cheimona.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>    <figure class=\"image-banner\">\t\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nauticescala.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/2022-nauticescala-2022-eurilca-master-europeans-championships-c-thom-touw-817.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t<\/figure><!-- end image-banner -->\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>The French Jean-Christophe Leydet and Xavier Leclair lead the ILCA 6 Master division (45 \u2013 54 years old) with the British Ian Gregory in the third place. The Spanish M\u00f3nica Az\u00f3n, on the other hand, remains first among the women with the Spanish Marina S\u00e1nchez Ferrer and the German Alexandra Behrens behind her.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>Identical top 3, also, for the ILCA 6 Grand Master fleet (55 \u2013 64 years old) with the French Gilles Coadou and Luigi Santocanale in first and second place and the Belgian Pieter van Laer, in the third. The French Elena and Isabelle Viazzo are still the female leaders, now, with the Swedish Ann Loren in third position.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>The Australian Jeff Loosemore, the British Max Hunt and the Spanish Miguel Noguer lead the ILCA 6 Great Grand Master division (65-74 years), while the French Isabelle Arnoux is the first woman in the category.<\/p>\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>    <figure class=\"image-banner\">\t\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nauticescala.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/2022-nauticescala-2022-eurilca-master-europeans-championships-c-thom-touw-847.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t<\/figure><!-- end image-banner -->\n<section class=\"article-section\"><div class=\"container\">\n\n<\/div><\/section>\n<p>Change in the provisional third place ILCA 6 Legend with the rise of the American Peter Seidenberg.
