The Mediterranean Awaits: Entries Now Open!
MedFoto 2026 is here. Organised by the Alive Foundation and Club Nàutic L’Escala, we open a new call for entries for an edition that once again invites you to look at the Mediterranean with calm, sensitivity and depth. For us, the contest is much more than a competition: it is a meeting place for people, perspectives and stories that all take the sea as their starting point.
Year after year, the MedFoto community grows and reminds us that every photograph is a unique way of telling the story of the Mediterranean: what happens on the surface and beneath the water; the trades that care for it; the landscapes that define it; the moments we experience; and the intimate relationship we maintain with this environment that inspires and transforms us.
In this new edition, each participant may submit up to 15 photographs, with complete freedom of format and approach: a moving landscape, an everyday scene, a human gesture, a moment of leisure, an underwater detail or a narrative sequence built from several images. We are interested in the strength of the story and the ability to connect with the sea from diverse perspectives.
Talent will be recognised with over €3,000 in prizes and experiences, including:
- Selection of works for the official MedFoto 2026 exhibition
- MedFoto 2026 Absolute Award
- Prizes for the 8 contest categories
- Special awards linked to the territory
Entries now open
Entries are open from 1 April to 15 May 2026. This is the moment to revisit your archives, create new images, explore the coastline or dive in to capture a story yet to be told.
