A responsible Marina

During the months with the highest influx of vessels, you will find mooring buoys available so that you can enjoy the sea while showing the utmost respect for the environment.

As is customary, anchoring is regulated in certain areas of the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park, as well as in some areas of L’Escala, with the aim of protecting areas where Posidonia seagrass is present along the Costa Brava.

In free anchoring areas, please note that it is prohibited to anchor on seagrass meadows (such as Posidonia oceanica and Cymodocea nodosa). Consult the map identifying these seagrassmeadows.

Club Nàutic l’Escala is located in the heart of the Costa Brava, between three natural parks. Find out which areas are protected and review their recommendations:

• Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park, recognised above all for the Medes Islands, but also for its coves and cliffs. It includes the land and marine area between the municipalities of L’Escala and L’Estartit, as well as the Medes Islands.

• Cap de Creus Natural Park, known for its coves with unique geology, dark rock formations and charming villages. It includes the land and marine area between Port de la Selva and Roses.

• Aiguamolls de l’Empordà Natural Park, one of the most important protected bird areas in southern Europe. It covers the land area between Empuriabrava and Sant Pere Pescador.

Responsible Navigation Outside the Port Area

• Regulate your speed and do not exceed 3 knots.
• Reduce water consumption.
• Reduce electricity consumption.
• Dispose of waste correctly.
• Use the suction pump located at the fuel station to empty your vessel’s wastewater tanks.
• Safety recommendations for autumn and winter.
