L’Escala and the Costa Brava

Club Nàutic l’Escala, the perfect place to start exploring the Costa Brava

The Club Nàutic l’Escala, which is located in the bay of Roses, is very near the ruins of Empúries and the Montgrí and the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà Natural Parks.

Our position allows you to explore them from a different perspective: the sea.

From l’Escala it is easy to access the rich wealth of culture, history, gastronomy and landscape that the Costa Brava has to offer.

L’Escala 365 days a year

L’Escala was founded in the 16th century as a humble fishing port, which depended on the neighbouring town of Empúries.

Today it is an important tourist town.

You can visit its historical sights, enjoy the landscape and beaches, try its gastronomy and take advantage of the sports and leisure activities it has to offer… and these are only a few of the possibilities available.

It also offers a social and cultural agenda that encourages you to enjoy the fishing town all year round.

Costa Brava

Since 2011 the Bay of Roses has been part of the World’s Most Beautiful Bays Club, according to UNESCO.

What helps to define the character of the Empordà is the sea. Its coast is part of the Costa Brava.

It combines the most spectacular cliffs of the Cap de Creus with the wealth of the Medes Islands; intimate northern coves with long beaches of fine sand that stretch the length of the Bay of Roses.

L’Escala is located right in the middle of the bay and its more than 45 km of shallow beaches are perfect for family tourism and sailing activities.

With more than seven kilometers of coastline, l’Escala offers spots for all tastes: from sandy beaches formed by dunes to small pebble coves and cliffs.
