The new agreement gives continuity to two programmes that use the sea and physical activity as tools to promote well-being, health and social inclusion.
Club Nàutic l’Escala and “la Caixa” Foundation, through CaixaBank, have formalised a new collaboration agreement to continue and strengthen the Salut Blava and Per un Mar Accessible programmes. Both initiatives aim to make the benefits of the sea and physical activity accessible to different groups within the local community.
The initiative strengthens Club Nàutic l’Escala’s social commitment and its vision of nautical sport as a tool that goes beyond sporting activity to contribute to well-being, inclusion and connection with the local environment.

Salut Blava: the sea as a source of well-being
Salut Blava uses activities at sea to help improve emotional well-being, promote physical health and encourage social interaction.
The programme develops several areas of activity related to sailing and emotional well-being, adapted physical activity for people undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment, and support for people experiencing temporary disabilities.
Looking ahead to 2027, the aim is to continue consolidating and expanding Salut Blava so that more people can benefit from physical activity, contact with the marine environment and shared experiences on the water.
The programme works in coordination with local healthcare and social organisations, strengthening the connection between the sea, physical activity, health and well-being.

Per un Mar Accessible: making the sea accessible to everyone
Per un Mar Accessible aims to facilitate access to the sea for people with disabilities, promote greater independence and encourage physical activity in the natural environment while fostering social interaction.
The programme combines sailing training with shared experiences and communication, helping to create role models and make nautical activities increasingly accessible.
In this new stage, the Club aims to expand the programme and reach new groups within the local community, strengthening its inclusive and community-focused approach.

A partnership with a positive impact on the local community
The new agreement with “la Caixa” Foundation will allow Salut Blava and Per un Mar Accessible to continue developing and provide the resources needed for this new stage.
Club Nàutic l’Escala will provide the infrastructure, resources and coordination required to develop the programmes and continue making the sea of Empúries a space for health, inclusion, physical activity and new opportunities.
Through its extensive branch network, CaixaBank helps identify pressing local social needs and channel support from “la Caixa” Foundation towards initiatives that respond to them. In 2025, this support reached more than 5,500 projects involving nearly 5,200 social organisations.
