Safety – Anchoring

  • Category: Environment

In an environment like ours, located between three natural parks – Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter, Cap de Creus and Aiguamolls de l’Empordà – we need you to get involved in preserving the environment as part one of the fundamental aspects for being able to undertake our main activity of boating. Help us to preserve it.

Recommendations:

  • Do not enter the swimming area, which is marked off with yellow buoys. Remember that it is against the law to sail in these areas.
  • Moderate your speed close to the coast for your safety and the safety of other users.
  • It is not permitted to sail at speeds of over three knots within 200 metres a beach or cove that is not marked off with buoys or within 50 metres of the coastline.
  • Sail far away from divers. You must sail over 100 metres away from vessels with divers.
  • Do not anchor in beds of posidonia (seagrass). Regulations prohibit the destruction of this marine plant, which is of great ecological value, so please anchor where the seabed is sand or rock.
  • Do not throw waste, debris, food waste or wastewater or bilge water into the sea. Wait until you return to port to dispose of them properly.
