Surfing for Science: Help science by paddling!
This year, 2024, the Surfing for Science project reaches its second edition. The aim of this project is to assess pollution by microplastics in the coastal area, with the collaboration of citizens who collect scientific samples while they are out on the water.
How does it work?
The Club organises trips every 15 days to carry out the sampling on a transect departing from the port which runs along the coastline past the beach of Port d’en Perris, in La Punta. During the round trip, the volunteers collect microplastics with a net attached to the boat.
