Thanks to the Ocean Ecostructures project, Club Nàutic L’Escala contributes to the regeneration and improvement of the port’s water quality.

Since its installation in June 2022, the four Life Boosting Units (LBU) in the port have been contributing to renaturalizing the area and improving the quality of the ecosystems in the port’s inner waters. The results obtained are more than positive, as the biodiversity and marine biomass in the Club’s inner dock have increased.

The latest data provided by Ocean Ecostructures reveals that since the beginning of the project:

  • Species richness has multiplied by 2.1. In this parameter, the Club is also ranked third in the TOP 7 among ports with similar antiquity within the project.
  • A total of 125 species have been identified.
  • Biomass has increased by 112%.
  • 24.36 kg of CO2 have been fixed.

This success has motivated the renewal of the agreement with Ocean Ecostructures for the third consecutive year, reaffirming the Club’s commitment to marine environment regeneration.
