Once again, Club Nàutic L’Escala has joined the major solidarity cause of La Marató de 3CAT, dedicated this year to the fight against cancer. Under the motto “Sail for La Marató”, more than 130 people —including members and users of the Club— actively participated in the sports activities organized between 7 and 13 December, with the aim of raising funds for research.
Throughout these days, the Club offered a wide range of solidarity nautical activities: kayak, dragon boat, sea rowing, dinghy sailing, recreational fishing and cruising sailing. The sessions combined sport, fellowship and solidarity, with an excellent response from the community.
On Sunday, 7 December, over 45 people enjoyed dragon boat, kayaking, sea rowing and the Open Autumn Light Sailing Meeting, with a shared breakfast and charity raffle. On Saturday, 13 December, solidarity was once again the star with the Anchovy Route in cruising sailboats, involving 88 people across 24 boats, and the Scientific Recreational Fishing Day, which gathered 20 participants on 9 boats, ending with a snack and a gastronomic raffle.
Thanks to this initiative, the Club raised €2,000, donated entirely to La Marató de 3CAT, and made an additional contribution to reinforce the donation. This action is part of the Club’s 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility Plan, reaffirming its commitment to society and to causes that improve people’s quality of life.
Commitment and sport to face health challenges
