Club Nàutic l’Escala has been chosen by EurILCA, the European association of the ILCA class, to become the venue for the 2022 European Sailing Championship of the Master division (over 35 years old) of this individual dinghy sailing boat.
Between 200 and 250 sailors representing up to 15 countries from all over Europe and other places in the world; five days of regatta and a social program to enjoy the Club and l’Escala.
The emotion is guaranteed!
SPORTS – More sport!
- Promote outdoor sports, more specifically sailing competitions.
- Make Escala and the Sea of Empúries known as a center to host sporting events.
- Promote the Club Nàutic L’Escala as a non-profit entity who promotes water sports.
SOCIAL – More social!
- Involve the schools in the territory so that their students learn about nautical sports and, more specifically, sailing through the Esport Blau programme.
- Integrate people at risk of social exclusion into the organization through the InserVela program.
ENVIRONMENTAL – More sustainable!
- Promote the practice of sports in a sustainable modality with the environment – sailing.
- The event has been classified as a Platinum category by the organization – Sailors of the Sea/Oceana – an entity who recognizes sporting events worldwide that best manage their impact on the environment.
