This September, Club Nàutic l’Escala has launched a new season of social, educational and sports projects with a common goal: using the sea and physical activity as tools for health, inclusion, education and social cohesion.
The Club thus reaffirms its commitment to a vision of sport that goes beyond competition and actively contributes to people’s well-being and community development.
Salut Blava: the sea as a tool for emotional well-being
One of the initiatives launched this September is Salut Blava, a project developed together with local health and social services that uses the sea and nautical activities to promote emotional well-being.
The programme offers sailing experiences and sea-based activities aimed at improving emotional health, reducing stress and encouraging healthy lifestyles through contact with nature and physical activity.
The project is supported by the ”la Caixa” Foundation and Dipsalut, consolidating a line of work that places people’s health at the heart of nautical activities.
For an Accessible Sea: inclusion and equal opportunities
At the same time, the Club has launched a new edition of the For an Accessible Sea project, an initiative that works to ensure nautical activities are accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities.
The programme is carried out in collaboration with the MIFAS Foundation and ALTEM, and is once again supported by the ”la Caixa” Foundation and the Girona Provincial Council.
Its objective is to facilitate access to the sea for people with physical or intellectual disabilities, or other support needs, promoting genuine inclusion through sport and sailing.
Esport Blau: educating through the sea
This academic year has also seen the launch of a new edition of Esport Blau, an initiative that brings nautical sports into schools and enables students to discover the sea from an educational, sporting and environmental perspective.
Supported by the Catalan Sailing Federation and the General Secretariat for Sport, the project promotes values such as respect for the marine environment, teamwork, personal autonomy and healthy lifestyles.
For a Young Sea: rowing as an educational tool
Another initiative launched this season is For a Young Sea, a programme that aims to introduce sea rowing to secondary school students through the Club’s extracurricular activities.
The project provides young people with a sea-related sporting alternative, encouraging regular physical activity, social cohesion and the discovery of nautical sports in a healthy and safe environment.
A club open all year round
Through this range of programmes, Club Nàutic l’Escala reinforces its commitment to an open, inclusive, healthy and community-oriented nautical culture.
The combination of sport, education, health and inclusion allows more and more people to discover the benefits of the sea, consolidating the Club as an organization open throughout the year and committed to community well-being.
Because educating, improving health and building a more inclusive society is also possible through sport and the sea.
