One more year we’ve been working on the maintenance and improvement works of the facilities. This year we have a plan that includes more than 140 actions.

Find out about them!

The Club is committed to energy transition and sustainable development, reducing the impact of the Club’s activities on the environment and its conservation. The activity plan for 2023 includes various measures related to this issue. Check out the most important ones!

We are investing in renewable energies

The implementation of the second phase of the expansion of the photovoltaic plant installed at the administrative headquarters last year has been very positive. This system of self sufficient production has made it possible to reduce the electricity consumption of the supplying companies by 17.18% in the last year.

With the aim of continuing to improve this efficiency, a third expansion phase of the existing plant will be implemented with the installation of 80 new 30kW solar panels. This will double the potency achieved during the first two phases.

In addition, we plan to replace the gas boiler of the sanitary facilities of the Headquarters with an aerothermia unit. This cleaner system uses the ambient energy in the air to provide hot water.

Energy efficiency

Keeping a good track of the electrical consumption in the different areas of the port facilities, as well as knowing which ones are the main users and in which periods the usage is greater, is important to plan the reduction of electrical consumption. Thanks to the new meters, the Club can monitor the data and will act accordingly.

Reduction of CO2 emissions

In 2022 the Club joined the Programme of Voluntary Agreements to reduce CO2. With this certification the Club promises to monitor its greenhouse gas emissions and establish annual measures to reduce them.

Amongst the planned actions we can highlight the Club’s participation in the European Week of Sustainable Mobility and the calculation and analysis of the CO2 footprint generated by the Club’s workers on their journey to work, in order to propose measures that will reduce this, such as encouraging the use of bicycles to access the Club.

On the other hand, the purchase of a new 4 seater electric courtesy vehicle has been planned so that the transient visitors we have can travel around the municipality in the most sustainable way. For users who already have an electric vehicle, the Club will be installing two new double charging points this year, which will be located in the north and south car parks respectively.

The maintenance works on the docks and the walkways, as well as the inspection and correct adjustment of their mooring systems are key to guaranteeing the safe and convenient access to boats.

In addition to checking the moorings, chains and shackles, the activities include the repair of the rusty spots, protective timbers, mooring bollards and rubber defenders of the docks. At wharf A, the plan also includes the replacement of the timbers and the renovation of the water and electricity turrets. These will also be renewed at the waiting dock.
