The 25th Edition of the Interclubs Empordà Regatta 2026 Begins

The XXV Interclubs Empordà Regatta celebrates 25 years by bringing back the four stages and strengthening the role of the organising clubs

The Interclubs Empordà Regatta will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2026, firmly established as one of the most emblematic cruiser sailing competitions on the Catalan coast and in Northern Catalonia. What began a quarter of a century ago with the aim of promoting cruiser sailing and encouraging navigation between neighbouring clubs has become a benchmark regatta circuit in northern Catalonia.

To commemorate this special milestone, the organisation has decided to bring back the original four-stage format, a formula fondly remembered by sailors that will once again allow participants to enjoy the true essence of the Interclubs over two months of competition.

Clubs regain the spotlight

One of the main new features of this edition is that, after 24 years of history, the participating clubs will once again take direct responsibility for organising their respective events.

As a result, the single regatta secretariat that had centralised management in recent editions will disappear, and each club will organise its own stage, demonstrating the experience and organisational expertise accumulated over the years.

This new model reinforces the unique identity of each event and restores the original spirit of the Interclubs: a competition built on collaboration between nautical clubs that share the same passion for sailing.

Four stages, four clubs and one shared spirit

The XXV Interclubs Empordà Regatta will retain all the elements that have made this competition a must-attend event for cruiser sailors.

Each stage will include:

Welcome breakfast for sailors.
Coastal or course race.
Pasta Party at the end of the day.
Prize-giving ceremony for the corresponding stage.

In addition, participants will compete for the overall final classification in the ORC and Osiris classes, which will be decided after the completion of all four stages.

Calendar of the XXV Interclubs Empordà Regatta

The circuit will begin in Northern Catalonia and will travel through some of the most emblematic cruiser sailing venues on the Costa Brava.

Saint-Cyprien: 12 and 13 September
GEN Roses: 26 and 27 September
Club Nàutic l’Escala: 10 and 11 October
Club Nàutic Estartit : 24 et 25 Octobre

The final overall classification will count towards the Catalan Cruisers Cup Northern Zone, further increasing the sporting appeal of the competition and guaranteeing strong participation from the best crews in the area.

Excitement is guaranteed with four weekends of sailing, sporting rivalry and camaraderie among sailors.

Registration for this special edition is now open.

The organisation reminds participants that registration will close 15 days before the start of the first stage, meaning interested teams have until 29 August to complete their registration.

25 years of shared history

Since its first edition, the Interclubs Empordà Regatta has been much more than a sporting competition. It has become a meeting point for sailors, clubs and territories united by the same maritime culture.

Twenty-five years later, the spirit remains unchanged.
